I completed a residency program at Southern Methodist University and earned my Master of Education. I am certified in EC-6 Core Subjects and English as a Second Language (ESL). Athenya is currently a High School Family & Consumer Science teacher. She's also a former Second Grade teacher with fifteen+ years of teaching experience. Athenya was named Teacher of the Year (2018-2019). She received her M.Ed in Instructional Design and Technology from West Texas A & M University. She also participated in an alternative certification program. She’s certified in (EC-4) Generalists and Family Consumer Science (6-12). She's eager to share her expertise with future teachers!
