Like other high-skilled professions, you’ll need a degree and teaching certificate to become a Texas teacher. The good news? You have several options to get there, no matter where you’re starting. You can earn your bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate at the same time, or you can add on a certificate to your current degree. You may even be able to start teaching right away and earn your certificate on the job. Learn about certification for undergrads, graduate students, school staff, working professionals and more. Once you know what pathway to follow, you can search for teaching programs based on your location, the subject you want to teach and other preferences. You’ll find in-person, online, part time and full time options. There’s a certification program that will work for you!
