The number of students who passed state certification tests in shortage areas on the first try earned the college a Certificate of Commendation from the Texas Education Agency/ State Board of Educator Certification in 2022-23.

Program Info

The Alamo Colleges Educator Preparation Program, approved and accredited by the State Board for Educator Certification, offers a route to teacher certification for those with a bachelor's degree. The Educator Preparation Program consists of 304 hours of coursework and either:

  • A one-school-year paid internship or
  • A 75-day clinical teaching experience

The fast-paced curriculum allows you to complete the program in as little as nine months.
