Our Mission
TEACH San Antonio launched in September 2024, as a partnership between City Education Partners and TEACH.org, in collaboration with national and local funders.
Our mission is to recruit and empower the next generation of San Antonio teachers, ensuring their journey to the classroom is clear, supported, and affordable.
Our Story
TEACH San Antonio is a co-led initiative between several national and local partners, including City Education Partners and TEACH.org, dedicated to amplifying San Antonio as a teaching destination and strengthening and diversifying San Antonio’s teacher pipeline. The initiative will inspire prospective teachers to explore the profession and provide free support for the steps they need to take to become certified educators. Our model includes a robust online platform, a digital recruitment program, and virtual and in-person events based on a research-backed model that has proven successful in several other states.
TEACH.org began as an initiative of the U.S. Department of Education with clear goals: Reduce the national teacher shortage, elevate the image of the teaching profession and support anyone interested in teaching. We became an independent nonprofit in 2015 and have since grown into one of the nation’s largest and most effective teacher recruitment organizations.
