Grants, Stipends, Scholarships
The Charles Butt Scholarship for Aspiring Teachers is available to students in the UTSA Signature Teacher Residency, first-year undergraduates, transfer students and dual-credit high school students dedicated to teaching careers in Texas. The scholarship provides $8,00-$10,000 per year for up to four years.
$15,000- $20,000
Strategic Staffing with ISD Partners is available for some Clinical Teaching Residents to complete a paid residency for approximately $15,000-$20,000 per year. An application, interview and selection by a UTSA & ISD joint committee is required.

Loan Forgiveness
The UTSA Clinical Teaching Education Loan Forgiveness Program can help you with expenses during your student teaching semester. All students approaching their student teaching semester are eligible to apply. Priority is based on financial need and the critical shortage areas of math, science, special education, languages other than English and ESL/Bilingual education. Learn more.

Work Study, Working While Still Enrolled
The typical work-study award is $4,500, but the amount is determined federally by need. Work-study opportunities are available, or you can find employment while enrolled.
